At Ion Bank, our primary concern is for the well-being of our customers and employees. The Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation in the United States is growing every day. We are actively monitoring developments that are made available by the Centers for Disease Control and World Health Organization.
Steps we are taking include:
- In lieu of in-person meetings, we are scheduling conference calls internally, and have stepped up cleaning schedules of our branch offices, drive-ups, and ATMs as well as employee workspaces.
- We have increased the supply of hand sanitizers in all of our branch offices.
- Ion’s Senior Leadership Team, as well as other key individuals from across the bank are participating in a “table-top” exercise to review key aspects of our current pandemic plan and identify any necessary additional precautionary steps.
- Like most financial institutions, Ion relies on vendors to deliver certain services that are then passed through to our customers. We are in communication with our critical vendors to assess their business continuity plans in order to understand their service level expectations and make contingency plans if necessary.
As a reminder, in many instances, you don’t need to visit a branch to conduct your business. Our Contact Center and Personal Teller Machines are open 7am to 8pm Monday-Friday and 7am to 3pm on Saturday to assist you. In addition, our online iBanking, mobile app, ATMs, and bank by phone are available 24/7. If you aren’t yet enrolled in our online banking, please call us at 203.729.4442 to learn how to get started!
The CDC always recommends everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory viruses, including;
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick
- Stay home when you are sick
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash
- If a tissue is not available, sneeze into your elbow
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces
Again, our priority in this situation is to protect our customers and employees from unnecessary exposure. We are committed to providing customers and employees with regular updates on any further developments.
