Ion Financial, MHC is pleased to announce the election of Gary O’Connor to serve on the Board of Directors. As a Board member, Mr. O’Connor will contribute to the direction and strategy of the organization for Ion Financial, MHC and its subsidiaries Ion Bank, Ion Insurance, and Ion Investments. Mr. O’Connor has been a Corporator at Ion Bank since 2010.
Mr. O’Connor is an attorney and equity member of Pullman & Comley, LLC, where he serves as chair of the firm’s Real Estate and Land Use Department. Gary earned a B.A. degree from Boston College and a J.D. from Boston College Law School. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Connecticut Bar Association, National Brownfield Association and Air & Waste Management Association; he serves as co-chair of Connecticut’s Brownfields Working Group and has been one of the leaders in Connecticut in revising state environmental laws.
Gary’s community involvement includes serving as a member of the board of directors of the Connecticut Audubon Society, past chairman and current vice-chairman at large of the Waterbury Regional Chamber of Commerce, legal counsel and director of the Police Activities League, and secretary and director of Loyola Development, Inc.
Mr. O’Connor was the recipient of the 2013 Malcolm Baldridge Community Award from the Waterbury Regional Chamber, received the highest peer review rating by Martindale-Hubbell (AV), listed as America’s Leading Lawyers to Businesses in the area of environmental law in Chambers USA, selected to Greater Hartford’s Top Attorneys, listed in the Best Lawyers in America in the area of real estate litigation, and selected to the Connecticut Super Lawyer list since 2013 in the area of environmental law.
