For the third consecutive year, Ion Bank was listed among the top 20 workplaces in southwest Connecticut in the category of midsized companies and was among the top 50 workplaces of any size in an annual employee satisfaction survey of workers in Fairfield, Litchfield and New Haven Counties.
The fifth annual employee survey was taken this spring by nearly 10,000 workers in southwest Connecticut. It was sponsored by Hearst Connecticut Newspapers and conducted by WorkplaceDynamics LLP, a research firm that specializes in organizational health and employee engagement.
Ion Bank, whose employees were taking the survey for the third time, finished 11thin the midsize (125 to 349 employees) company category.
About 235 Ion Bank employees participated in the 19-question survey, a participation rate of about 89 percent, said Chuck Boulier, the bank’s president and chief executive officer. At least 35 percent of a company’s employees must take the survey in order for the firm to be eligible for a top workplaces award.
The survey results stressed the importance Ion Bank workers place on opening and maintaining good lines of communication between management and bank employees.
Boulier added that being named among southwest Connecticut’s top workplaces “reinforced who we are and also told our customers that we have exceptional employees and that we put a lot of effort into hiring great people with winning attitudes who can provide unparalleled service to our customers.”
