On April 25 and 26, Connecticut Community Foundation will host Give Local Greater Waterbury and Litchfield Hills, a 36-hour online giving event that will benefit over 240 local nonprofit organizations. Beginning at 7 a.m. on April 25, all donations to participating nonprofits on the website www.GiveLocalCCF.org will be boosted with over $120,000 in bonus funds contributed by Connecticut Community Foundation, local business and individual sponsors. Nonprofits can also compete for nearly $50,000 more in cash prizes furnished by the Foundation and Give Local sponsors.
Ion Bank Foundation is again leading the business community’s support, serving as the presenting sponsor for the fifth consecutive year. Several media sponsors have also joined the effort to spread the word about Give Local, including the Republican-American, WATR 1320 AM, and WZBG 97.3 FM.
Since 2013, over $3.2 million has been raised for area nonprofits through Give Local Greater Waterbury and Litchfield Hills. Last year’s event broke fundraising records for the event, garnering $1.2 million through 6,900 gifts.
